God's uncommon pursuit takes place IN us, AMONG us, THROUGH us, and AROUND us.
No matter when or where you live, powerful forces shape our lives. If you live in a society where people spend 2-3 hours a day on social media, you could be more inclined to believe that life centers around our experiences and reputation. But this doesn't only affect our self-perception, but also how we perceive God, the church, and other people.
**God's Uncommon Pursuit is an attempt to experience God as God. God is ultimate. His loving actions are primary. It is our joy to worship God as we are transformed for his mission.**
Still, we've covered many topics over an extended period of time. So in this final lesson, I want to make the main point so simple that you never forget what you learned in this course.
Let's look at Acts 2:42-47:
*"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles... Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved."*
We see in this passage that God's uncommon pursuit takes place in four spheres:
**IN us** - God transforms our hearts **AMONG us** - God builds community **THROUGH us** - God works to reach others **AROUND us** - God is active in the world
As I go about my day in God's presence, I notice what he's doing in my heart. I see how he is working in my family, neighborhood, and church. I'm aware of how God's people are going out to love their neighbors. I see God at work all around us—in ways where I contribute nothing, God is accomplishing his purposes.
**In, among, through, and around. Those four, simple, everyday words summarize God's uncommon pursuit.**
Psalm 16 concludes: *"You reveal the path of life to me; in your presence is abundant joy; at your right hand are eternal pleasures."*
As we end this course, I trust that God will reveal the path of life to you, that in his presence you will experience abundant joy, and that at his right hand, you will know eternal pleasure. May our hearts be filled with happiness as we know, love, and worship our Triune God!
