A recommended three-section framework for organizing your Life Plan.
As I've worked through this process many times, I always faced the problem of the blank page.
On the one hand, there are so many opportunities. It's a moment to pause, pray, and dream with God!
On the other hand, my life already feels completely accounted for. I've already made fundamental decisions that constrain my choices: marriage, kids, job, church, neighborhood, friends, and so on.
Depending on the stage of life you're in, and your unique circumstances, developing or revising your life plan can be a moment to prayerfully start a new chapter or discern what faithfulness looks like in the middle of stability.
Either way, here's one structure that I recommend for your consideration:
---
How will I experience the love of God on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual basis?
How will I live my life with God? How will I grow in worship, Christlikeness, and gratitude to God?
---
Because the Holy Spirit is always pouring the love of God into my heart, how can I share God's love with others?
What does 'love' look like in my family, church, friends, work, and so on?
---
Are there any areas I especially need to focus on in my discipleship right now?
This is a 'catch-all' block for anything that might not precisely fit in sections 1 and 2 (though any item in our lives can fit into those sections!).
---
I hope these suggestions help you get started in developing or revising your life plan!
