Understanding how knowing God as Creator changes our view of ourselves and our world.
In John 17, Jesus says that, "This is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." To know God is to begin to experience eternal life. We don't have to wait for heaven to experience a new kind of life in God's presence.
And this is not because we have gone to God, but because Jesus was sent to us. Our minds are humbled before an incomprehensibly great God. Our hearts are adoring an altogether lovely God.
God has loved us first. And we want God to be our First love. To keep pressing into that, this week, we will meditate on God the Creator.
I hope that we can all agree that we would need an entire course to understand what it means to worship God as Creator.
But what I hope to share with you this week is a few truths about God as Creator that will change your life. It will change how you see yourself, how you think about other people, and even how you think about your purpose in life.
May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works, who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke! I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD.
Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more!
Bless the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD!
(Psalm 104)
